 The hospital/training premises

There are two sites: The Alexandra Hospital (Redditch) and Worcestershire Royal Hospital (Worcester). The hospitals are busy acute District General Hospitals with a full range of specialities. There are 4 places: 2 based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital and 2 based at The Alexandra Hospital. There is a requirement for cross site working for specific elements of the training programme.

The pharmacy department

We pride ourselves on our high standards of training and education and the pharmacy department is committed to staff and service development.

The training programme

Comprehensive countywide training offered in all aspects of hospital pharmacy including technical, dispensing and Medicines Information services. Priority is given within the year to consolidating clinical training including weekly tutorials, bedside teaching, managing your own patient allocation and ward round attendance. A placement scheme allows for experience to be gained in community pharmacy and we run a mentoring scheme for our pre-registration trainee pharmacists to ease the transition from student to pharmacist.
